Welcome to our new school website.

I am thrilled to have been appointed as Head Teacher at St Mary the Virgin Church in Wales Primary School and continuing to work in partnership with you to ensure the very best for our school community.

I hope that our new website will tell you all the things you need to know about our school if you are a new or existing parent, or simply a visitor.  You will find a link to our School Prospectus where you will find more detailed information about the school ethos and how the school is managed.

On the class pages you will be able to see more of our recent visits and projects.  We believe that whenever possible learning should start with a first hand experience.  We are so very fortunate that our school is situated in the heart of the City of Cardiff which means that we are only a short distance from many places of historical and cultural interest.

St Mary's is a Church school where Christian values underpin all that we do.  We believe that the spiritual development of all children is very important and it is a vital aspect of our school ethos.  Time and space are given to allow Christians and non-Christians to pray both together and separately in an atmosphere that is loving and reassuring.  This is a strength of our school and, as such, makes us unique in Wales.

At St Mary's we strive to work in partnership with parents, carers, members of the parish and members of the wider school community.  Each person has an important role to play and everyone is encouraged and supported to play an active part in all aspects of school life.
