PE Days

Our PE days are a Thursday and a Friday but this can change and in order to be flexible and prepared could you child bring their PE kit in on Monday morning and leave it in school until Friday afternoon.

Snack

We are a healthy eating school and encourage you child to bring a piece of fruit/veg every day to have at snack time. We all eat our snack together while watching Newsround to keep up with what is going on in the world around us.

Water bottles

Please could your child bring a bottle of water in everyday. It is important that they have access to water throughout the day as this helps with learning.

Book Bags

Book bags will be given out on a Friday afternoon and will contain a reading book, maths homework and a spelling list. Mrs Mohammed will read the home reading book with your child every week and the same book will come home for you to read with your child too. Frequent reading practice benefits your child by developing not only their fluency but their confidence also.

The maths homework will be based on the work we have been doing that week and aims to reinforce the concept.

The spelling list is made up of a word pattern that we have worked on that week and there will be a light hearted spelling test on Monday's to reinforce the words before moving on to a new set.

Our Central Idea

This half term our central idea has a Humanities focus. It is:

Our Identity is more than where we live. It is our culture, our heritage and where we feel we belong.

We will be learning about Wales, the country we live in and also our heritage countries, the countries our families are connected to.

Here we are working creatively to represent our Zones of Regulation and working to understand new vocabulary that helps describe how we feel.

Here are the five Children's rights that we, as a class felt were the most important.

On Thursday September the 28th we visited the Butetown Community Centre and planted flowers and herbs in the Windrush Garden we helped to design last year. We had a great time. Thank you to everyone at the Community Centre for such a warm welcome and a fun filled afternoon.

What will next week bring?
